Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate a heavy vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • •Transport loads safely and on time along required routes while following traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals, and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork, and deliver documentation after route completion.
  • •Facilitate routine truck service checks (oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state transportation regulations.
  • •Pass a DOT physical because the trucks driven are over 10k lbs.
  • •Provide strong interpersonal and customer service skills when speaking professionally with customers and staff.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
