  • •Serve as lead legal counsel for Wellcare and advise business and compliance partners on Medicare-related healthcare laws and regulations.
  • •Research, analyze, and interpret complex healthcare regulatory requirements across Medicare operations, risk adjustment, MLR, quality, stars, and agent/broker matters.
  • •Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, policies, and related documents; provide guidance to support implementation of laws, initiatives, and operational workflows.
  • •Manage provider disputes and outside counsel to ensure efficient, high-quality legal services.

Key Requirements

  • •Juris Doctor (JD) required.
  • •7+ years of experience in health law required.
  • •Bar admission and currently in good standing required.
  • •2+ years of experience handling risk adjustment matters, including audits and complex vendor relationships (preferred).
  • •2+ years of experience with Medicare Stars, or advising on Medicare bids and benefit structures (preferred).
