Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the team in developing conceptual designs for electrical distribution systems (EHV to Low Voltage), including generation, UPS, switchgear, and power control/monitoring.
  • •Lead the design of data centre electrical systems and equipment and provide client advice on electrical requirements.
  • •Produce written reports, system option design development notes, and technical specifications aligned to standards and client requirements.
  • •Create calculations and technical/equipment specification documentation for tender, and coordinate with architects and structural engineers.
  • •Monitor installation of designed systems and equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications, employers’ requirements, and relevant safety codes.

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered status with CIBSE or IET (or working towards Chartered status) or equivalent experience.
  • •Technical knowledge of relevant UK & EU regulations and design guides.
  • •IT literate with a technical understanding of relevant IT packages (e.g., Trimble/Amtech).
  • •Understanding of the ETAP software package for HV modelling (fault current, current flow & harmonics).
  • •Working knowledge of RevitMEP (or other 3D design software) and AutoCAD for directing work on projects.
