Key Responsibilities

  • •Administer and monitor underwriting rules, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations.
  • •Analyze and underwrite new and renewal business under delegated authority levels using The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework.
  • •Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) to determine insurance needs and provide solutions.
  • •Support the sales culture by serving as a Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
  • •Seek renewal and new account opportunities, complete opportunity assessments, qualify accounts, and make broker/customer and on-sight calls.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 75,000 - 165,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years underwriting or market-facing experience (or 6+ years claims/underwriting support experience; or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with associate degree and 1+ years underwriting/market-facing experience).
  • •For Executive Underwriter level: high school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years commercial underwriting or brokerage/market-facing experience (or 10+ years claims/underwriting support experience; or Zurich approved apprenticeship with associate degree and 3+ years underwriting/market-facing experience).
  • •Knowledge of line(s) of business plus the legal and regulatory guidelines governing underwriting.
  • •Experience working with time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
  • •Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
