Key Responsibilities

  • •Enforce entry and identification systems and screen vehicles and pedestrians entering or exiting the facility as directed.
  • •Patrol court facilities and grounds, providing focused surveillance to detect threats before screening areas.
  • •Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and other information sources; dispatch or notify others as authorized.
  • •Serve security presence in the courtroom, enforce federal law and judicial orders, and provide courtroom security during hearings as assigned.
  • •Maintain required records and logs, issue badges/passes, and coordinate with law enforcement by locating, retaining, and protecting evidence as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • •Be at least 21 years of age.
  • •Minimum 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience (or equivalent military experience) with general arrest authority within the last 7 years.
  • •Complete a certified law enforcement training academy/program that provides armed police powers instruction and provides eligibility for employment as a law enforcement officer.
  • •Pass pre-placement screening (criminal background check, credit check, FOIA disclosure) and be able to pass criminal background screening, drug test, and physical exam.
