Job Summary

The Construction Inspector works with the Raleigh-based Construction Management team to examine plans, interpret schedules, and perform inspections and testing on road and bridge projects. You will support senior inspectors, ensure safety and compliance with project plans, and help gather field data while developing required certifications. This full-time role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to company policies in a dynamic project environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Examine and interpret construction plans, schedules and quantities.
•Support senior project inspectors in functional areas such as construction inspection, surveying and material sampling and testing.
•Verify that work is performed safely and in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
•Perform a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing and processing field data.
•Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•5 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience (EI eligible) or equivalent education/experience.
•Ability to attain the following certifications within 90 days: NCDOT Concrete Field Technician, NCDOT Conventional Density, Level II Erosion & Sediment Control/Storm Water, NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician, NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling.
•Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
•General awareness of construction inspection principles, codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
