Key Responsibilities

  • •Analyze claim data to determine reinsurance applicability and ensure timely notice to reinsurers.
  • •Serve as claim expert and reinsurance leader for underlying claims, including complex coverage issues and reinsurance contract interpretation to support correct cessions and billing.
  • •Provide specialist advice to internal clients on technical reinsurance claims questions while following policies, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • •Coordinate timely and accurate reinsurance reporting on complex claims and responses to reinsurer inquiries across the organization.
  • •Act as a key point of contact for brokers, reinsurers, and internal stakeholders; provide audit support and maintain communication to share claim insights.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of insurance claims experience with exposure to the reinsurance business, or High School Diploma and 8+ years, or a Zurich Certified Apprentice (including an Associate Degree) with 6+ years.
  • •Advanced knowledge of claims, reinsurance, and legal/coverage issues on direct and reinsurance claims across multiple lines of business.
  • •Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • •Demonstrated proficiency in complex coverage issues on commercial line claims, such as triggers of coverage and allocation.
  • •Demonstrated in-depth understanding of reinsurance treaties, facultative certificates, and related contracts and industry practices.
