Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently develop engineering drawings for infrastructure schemes in line with relevant standards.
  • •Work proactively across the design process, supporting multiple projects concurrently from feasibility through planning/detailed design to construction.
  • •Produce and develop drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other design software.
  • •Read and interpret CAD drawings/models and perform investigations of engineering problems.
  • •Support CAD standards by helping establish/enforce procedures and reviewing others’ CAD output to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •ITI or Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) plus 8 to 12 years’+ relevant post-graduate experience.
  • •Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation user certification.
  • •Ability to utilise AutoCAD or MicroStation to create layouts, labeling, dimensioning, sheet layouts, and design details following CAD standards.
  • •Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings/models and work up plans, sections, and details from engineers’ sketches.
  • •Experience and working knowledge of UK design standards/guidance (e.g., DMRB, MfS, TSRGD, HCD, IAN 184) and communicating BIM/CAD standards for civil infrastructure projects.
