Job Summary

Design and lead Snowflake’s Semantic Views semantic modeling layer that translates semantic queries into correct, high-performance SQL. Own architecture and roadmap for metrics, dimensions, relationships, and governance, while ensuring correctness and scalability for interactive analytics over petabyte-scale data. Partner with Cortex and AI teams to ground natural-language and agent-driven analytics, and mentor engineers to raise the technical bar and deliver operational readiness.

•Ensure semantic queries produce correct results and meet performance and scale needs for interactive analytics.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 264,000 - 379,500 annually

Key Requirements

•15+ years designing, building, and supporting large-scale data or systems software.
•Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
•Deep experience with query compilation/optimization, database or query engine internals, semantic/metrics layers, or BI/analytics infrastructure.
•Strong understanding of SQL semantics and relational modeling, with non-negotiable focus on correctness.
•Fluency in Java (or similar object-oriented language); BS in Computer Science (Masters or PhD preferred).
