Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform pipe fabrication welds, in-service welds, tie-in welds, and hot taps on steel pipelines up to 42 O.D.
  • •Mobilize, operate, and maintain heavy excavation equipment and assist pipeline specialists with field checks prior to excavation.
  • •Read and interpret engineering construction blueprints; scope, plan, estimate, track costs, and schedule work and resources for projects.
  • •Locate and mark pipelines using pipeline locating equipment or probe rods; inspect coating, remove coating, and perform surface preparation for coating application.
  • •Conduct coating inspections and integrity testing (calibrate holiday detector, perform ultrasonic thickness examinations, review and perform pressure tests) and support pigging, repairs, valves, and CP test point installation.

Key Requirements

  • •Intermediate or above welding skill level and qualification to weld according to API Standard 1104.
  • •Pipeline experience (5 years +/-) and ability to perform pipe fabrication, in-service welds, tie-in welds, and hot taps.
  • •Must be able to read blueprints and other construction documentation and use power and hand tools.
  • •Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain DOT operational qualifications for welding on natural gas and products pipelines.
  • •Competency in math plus strong verbal/written communication, teamwork, and safety-focused behavior.
