Key Responsibilities

  • •Architect and implement components for the mission-critical observability platform, driving performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, resiliency, and maintainability.
  • •Design observability improvements that help MongoDB engineers and customers diagnose production root causes quickly and accurately.
  • •Own areas of the Observability Team’s codebase and maintain high standards for security, durability, availability, performance, and quality.
  • •Handle production customer escalations from the Technical Support team and coach teammates to resolve issues effectively.
  • •Lead larger initiatives across the company, advise Product Management on technical direction and dependencies, and contribute to testing and correctness through unit/integration tests.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 10 years designing, programming, debugging, and tuning distributed and/or highly concurrent mission-critical software systems using C/C++/Java/Rust.
  • •Experience running latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems.
  • •Strong systems fundamentals, including multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
  • •Familiarity with database internals or building core components for data processing systems.
  • •Familiarity with observability ecosystem and best practices, with excellent technical communication and a desire to mentor engineers.
