Key Responsibilities

  • •Reinforce didactic content and teach the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
  • •Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
  • •Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs.
  • •Remain current with new trends and development in the nursing field and maintain program accreditation compliance.
  • •Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance and support university program initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • •BSN required; BSNs must enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU, or BSN with proof of at least 9 graduate credits/3 classes or approved national certification related to the content area being taught.
  • •5 years recent RN clinical experience with 3 years recent direct OB patient care nursing experience with a BSN.
  • •BSN applicants must have completed the Clinical Faculty Academy (CFA) through the Missouri Hospital Association at the time of application.
  • •MSN preferred and 2 years recent direct OB patient care nursing experience.
  • •Active, current, unencumbered, multi-state (compact) RN license; must pass a drug test and competency testing.
