Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer for Buildings leads design and analysis of HVACR, air distribution, hydronic and plumbing systems for infrastructure and building projects. Works within the Property & Buildings team on multi-site initiatives, coordinating with owners and sub-consultants, developing models, reports, and installation plans, and mentoring junior engineers in a cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical guidance for mechanical systems design and documentation for building projects, including HVACR, air distribution, hydronic and plumbing systems.
•Develop construction and installation plans, specifications, and updated infrastructure layouts, coordinating with owners and sub-consultants.
•Prepare data visualizations, calculations, and technical drawings to support project decisions and regulatory compliance.
•Ensure deliverables meet industry design, safety, and functionality standards and support QA/QC processes.
•Mentor entry-level engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute multiple concurrent projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or closely related discipline with emphasis in building HVACR systems
•5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior mechanical design experience
•Engineer in Training Certification
•Proficient knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and application to project work-related issues
•Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in rehabilitation and new design projects
