Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft proposals and develop scopes, including conceptual designs and execution plans.
  • •Generate engineering cost and man-hour estimates, schedules, and design calculations.
  • •Create detailed electrical drawings and design deliverables for EHV projects (AIS and GIS) from 11kV to 400kV, including emphasis on 132kV and above.
  • •Develop and maintain design packages (including layouts, grounding, lighting/lightning protection, BOM, CDM, and MEWP layouts) that comply with client technical standards and IEC/IEEE/NGTS.
  • •Coordinate design activities across Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line, conduct design reviews, and provide guidance/mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • •Minimum 5 years and maximum 10 years of experience in Substation Transmission & Distribution and renewable projects (onshore/offshore wind/solar) plus BESS.
  • •Thorough knowledge applying UK National Grid technical specifications, guidance notes, and design handbooks relating to substations.
  • •Understanding of relevant UK Health & Safety legislation for design and construction in the electricity supply industry.
  • •Preferably familiar with UK projects, including lead substation design experience for National Grid Electricity Transmission (or similar UK utilities) and experience with CDEGS/WinIGS.
