Job Summary

Operate gas and steam turbines, HRSGs, potline rectifiers, and related utility services in a designated area to keep plant systems running safely and continuously. Carry out instructions from shift leadership, record routine parameters, report deviations and abnormalities, ensure emergency standby readiness, and support testing or re-commissioning after maintenance outages. Follow emergency procedures, maintain housekeeping standards, and complete on-the-job training to build competency in assigned equipment.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure plant and equipment are operated safely and efficiently within the assigned area of responsibility.
•Carry out shift instructions promptly, recording routine parameter readings and reporting deviations.
•Inform the supervisor/control room of abnormalities or problems on equipment.
•Ensure standby equipment is readily available for emergency service and assist with routine testing/re-commissioning after maintenance outages.
•Adopt safe working practices, identify hazards and support reporting, maintain housekeeping standards, and follow emergency procedures while completing on-the-job training.

Key Requirements

•Higher Secondary School Certificate.
•4 years in a power station.
•2 years’ experience as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent in a similar industry.
•Achieved competencies in all areas except DCR operation.
•English skills suitable for preparing and completing shift reports (Intermediate 3 or equivalent), plus basic numeracy and ability to understand single line diagrams.
