Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead architectural design and delivery of major Search & Personalization capabilities, including genAI search, multi-turn agentic search, and recommendation/personalization services.
  • •Own the search indexing infrastructure and low-latency indexing pipelines for new asset types and embedded discovery surfaces.
  • •Champion AI-native engineering across the development lifecycle, promoting AI tools from code completion to production monitoring.
  • •Define Northstar architecture and drive platform modernization, including migration off Heroku to Falcon for search services infrastructure.
  • •Provide engineering excellence across the search stack, including observability/telemetry, safe change practices, 99.95% availability targets, and security risk governance.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years in software engineering with technical leadership on enterprise-scale search, recommendation, or personalization systems.
  • •Ability to define and drive long-term technical vision and architectural roadmaps for large, complex search or ML-infused platforms.
  • •Deep expertise building and operating search systems at scale, including indexing pipelines, ranking, query understanding, and relevance tuning.
  • •Proven experience integrating LLMs/GenAI into search products (e.g., AI-generated summaries, query expansion, semantic search, or conversational retrieval).
  • •Experience operating real-time/near-real-time data pipelines for indexing and signal ingestion, with strong observability and reliability practices.
