Job Summary

Provide inpatient ophthalmology care while maintaining professional standards in line with medical ethics and JCIA/CBAHI requirements. Conduct assessments, history taking, diagnostic test interpretation, and daily ward rounds, coordinating plans with or without consultant assistance. Manage admissions, emergencies, and discharges, document medical records and follow-ups, and educate patients and families. Work within clinical privileges, participate in on-call care, and supervise junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure high-quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every inpatient.
•Provide patient care within professional competence and clinical privileges, including assessment, history taking, and physical exams.
•Conduct daily ward rounds, manage admissions/elective cases and emergency cases within privileges, and coordinate investigations and diagnosis.
•Maintain accurate, timely, and legible medical records, including progress notes follow-ups and discharge summaries/death/special reports.
•Supervise junior staff, seek consultant advice when needed, participate in on-call rota, and educate patients/families per policy requirements.

Key Requirements

•Saudi Board, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, FRCS, or equivalent.
•Minimum three (3) years in the specialty after obtaining a Master’s Degree.
•Current valid license to practice medicine in the specialty.
•Registration in Saudi Medical Council for Health Specialities.
•Fluent English (verbal and written) with strong interpersonal and professionalism skills.
