Job Summary

Lead end-to-end water supply and wastewater (sewerage and drainage) design delivery, from concept and hydraulic analysis through detailed drawings and construction-ready documentation. Drive digital engineering using Civil 3D and BIM workflows, including coordination via Autodesk Construction Cloud. Oversee drawing production and QA/QC, prepare design reports and calculation packages, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead hydraulic design for water supply distribution systems, including pipe network sizing, pressure/flow analysis, network balancing, and storage/reservoir capacity assessments.
•Design wastewater collection systems, including gravity sewer design, slope/gradient optimisation, invert level and hydraulic grade line development, and manhole/chamber layout planning.
•Perform and review engineering calculations, design basis reports, assumptions, and calculation packages using recognised hydraulic principles and industry standards.
•Lead digital engineering delivery with Civil 3D and BIM, including surface creation from survey/LiDAR/GIS datasets, pipe network modelling, alignment/profile work, and coordination/document control via Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
•Oversee preparation and quality review of design drawings and documentation (plans, sections, details, design reports, calculation sheets, SOQ) and provide technical guidance/mentorship to junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•Master’s in Water Resource or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
•8 to 16 years of relevant experience in the design and delivery of water supply and wastewater utility infrastructure projects.
•Demonstrated experience in planning, hydraulic design, and detailed delivery of water distribution networks and wastewater collection systems, including preparation of Civil 3D models and engineering deliverables.
•Familiarity with international design standards and codes, preferably New Zealand (NZ) and/or Australian (AU) standards.
•Successful completion of a background verification (BGV) check during employment with WSP India.
