Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee engineering design projects across the UK & Ireland, coordinating with Discipline Leads, Project Managers, and Directors to build project teams.
  • •Act as Technical Project Manager for multi-disciplinary design projects, overseeing disciplines including substation primary, cables, protection & control, civils, overhead lines, and environmental scopes.
  • •Oversee the full lifecycle of design projects from concept to completion, covering phases such as FEED, environmental assessments, permitting/consenting, planning, cost estimation, and detailed engineering.
  • •Ensure projects meet safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards and that design submissions comply with codes, standards, and AECOM/client design management processes.
  • •Provide project updates on progress, costs, schedules, procurement, safety/environmental concerns, and design challenges; support proposal preparation, lead presentations, and contract negotiations while leading reviews of deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree qualified in electrical or power systems engineering (or equivalent).
  • •Transmission & Distribution (or renewables/large infrastructure) design experience across multi-disciplinary scope.
  • •Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-discipline projects and meeting delivery requirements for UK & Ireland clients.
  • •Working experience with National Grid and other TSO projects (advantageous).
  • •Proven client relationship management and business development skills; Chartered ship and LCDAE/CDAE certifications are advantageous.
