Job Summary

Install and repair telematics systems and devices on vehicles and construction/heavy equipment at EquipmentShare. You’ll handle a range of installation scenarios, including testing (operating machinery) and integrating ignition systems and CAN network wiring. Troubleshoot issues, gather/analyze information, and develop solutions as needed. Work at the Milwaukee facility and travel to customer sites or rental yards in the region, occasionally working evenings/weekends and on-call.

Key Responsibilities

•Install telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets.
•Operate machinery during installation for testing purposes.
•Remove and replace ignition systems and integrate communication between keypad and telematics systems.
•Work through installation scenarios from basic power/ignition/ground setups to complex custom wiring harnesses accessing CAN networks.
•Travel to client sites or EquipmentShare rental yards in the region for installation cases and serve as a brand/platform advocate while on the job.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or equivalent (trade school certificate preferred).
•Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, with hard-working attention to detail.
•Experience in a related field (e.g., electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer); telematics experience not required (training provided).
•Ability to drive and perform physical tasks (maneuver in tight spaces, bend/squat/walk long distances, lift 25+ lb) and pass a background check (clean driving record).
•Open to traveling within a 250 mile radius for up to a week at a time; safety-sensitive role requiring a 10-panel drug screen (and possibly being clean shaven).
