Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead hands-on design and development of developer tooling to modernise legacy applications using Moderne and OpenRewrite.
  • •Build, test, and maintain custom OpenRewrite recipes to automate refactoring and accelerate modernisation across multiple codebases.
  • •Design and develop dashboards, reports, and user-facing capabilities around the vendor solution to drive adoption and measurable outcomes.
  • •Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams to shape solution design, define standards, and enable consistent onboarding across development teams.
  • •Provide technical leadership through design/code reviews and mentoring; assess solution trade-offs, document architectural decisions, and support production reliability with the central SRE team.

Key Requirements

  • •10 to 14 years of experience with a degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field.
  • •Strong full stack engineering skills with modern Java frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Vert.x, Helidon) and UI technologies (e.g., Angular, Node.js), plus tooling/build development using Maven or Gradle.
  • •Hands-on experience with OpenRewrite and/or large-scale codebase modernisation, including designing and authoring custom recipes (Moderne Open-Rewrite desirable).
  • •Experience with data stores and analytics-style use cases, including relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB), with SQL and NoSQL database design/management.
  • •Comfort as a technical lead influencing design direction, guiding engineers, and driving alignment across teams, with clear English communication.
