Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical design and delivery of large backend initiatives spanning teams, removing systemic bottlenecks across product and infrastructure.
  • •Drive modular backend/service/data/platform architecture, modernizing monoliths and legacy backends while preventing fragmentation.
  • •Define and improve standards for APIs, contracts, compatibility, schema evolution, testing, security, performance, and observability/operability practices.
  • •Establish shared patterns for dependency management, data ownership, eventing, failure isolation, service maturity, and operational documentation; guide Go service patterns and Kubernetes practices and support Rust adoption when relevant.
  • •Own production outcomes through on-call/incident response, act as escalation during complex incidents, and lead safe adoption of AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows with quality/security/privacy guardrails.

Key Requirements

  • •Demonstrated cross-team technical leadership across more than one team or broad product area.
  • •Deep backend architecture and production experience scaling complex applications, services, or platforms, including API governance.
  • •Experience modernizing monolith or legacy backend architecture in production using modular approaches (e.g., bounded contexts, service extraction, event-driven boundaries).
  • •Ability to influence without formal authority through clear written proposals and decision records.
  • •Production experience adopting AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows, including evaluating quality, security, privacy, and operational guardrails.
