Job Summary

Supervise and lead the operations staff at a power facility, directing daily operations and ensuring safe, reliable, and economic plant performance. Maintain environmental compliance and oversee required reporting, while directing safety practices and the plant lockout-tagout program. Coach and develop operations personnel, manage work orders and training, monitor and optimize performance, support budgeting and operating plans, and coordinate with the Facility Manager and HSE Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide supervision, direction, and leadership to operations staff including Operations Shift Leads and OMTs.
•Direct daily operations activities while promoting a safe working environment and ensuring safety procedures are followed by personnel and contractors.
•Oversee environmental compliance with the HSE Specialist, including preparation of quarterly and annual reports and coordination with consultants.
•Develop and implement facility training programs, including cross-training, and provide coaching and development opportunities for operations personnel.
•Manage operations staff and optimize plant performance, including monitoring, periodic testing/evaluations, improvement recommendations, budgeting input, and overtime utilization.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum eight years of relevant power plant operations experience, including at least four years in a supervisory/management role with oversight and task delegation.
•Knowledge of power plant operations and strong technical ability, including large frame, multi-train combined cycle turbine operations and maintenance functions.
•Ability to write operating procedures, work requests, and purchase requisitions, and to read/interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, technical manuals, and P&ID’s.
•Working knowledge of Zero Discharge Systems and ion exchange de-min systems.
•Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate subordinates, communicate effectively, and understand budgets, contract evaluation, and plant economics.
