Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and support mid-to-large Building Services projects in Scotland, focusing on mechanical design delivery from concept to handover. You’ll prepare specifications, drawings, and schedules; engage with clients; and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver sustainable, low-energy designs while developing towards chartered status.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and support mid-large mechanical design projects from concept through to handover, ensuring quality, time, and budget.
•Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings, and other contract documents through the RIBA/project stages.
•Attend project and client meetings on behalf of AECOM.
•Prepare planning, design, and feasibility reports.
•Ensure that project work complies with the Project Management Plan and Programme.

Key Requirements

•Experience in Building Services design including developing detailed design drawings and calculations, specification writing, and compiling technical schedules.
•Track record of Building Services designs across sectors such as Education, Science, Healthcare, etc.
•Experience seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.
•Track record of delivering low-energy, sustainable designs; working knowledge of REVIT / CAD is preferred.
•Ideally a mechanical/building services degree, chartered progression or similar qualification.
