You’ll recruit, coach, and drive rigorous pre-sales technical discovery, demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements, partnering with Strategic Account Executives to qualify opportunities and build technical conviction. Bring hands-on expertise in distributed systems and developer-infrastructure sales, serve as escalation support on complex deals, and translate market feedback into Product and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

•Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop a team of Solutions Architects for strategic new-logo enterprise acquisition.
•Establish performance expectations, coaching rhythms, technical standards, and career development paths for direct reports.
•Partner with Sales leadership and Strategic Account Executives to develop account-based acquisition strategies and manage technical discovery through technical win.
•Provide technical leadership in positioning Temporal against competing technologies, articulating benefits/limitations, and grounding demos/evaluations in customer discovery.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Developer Relations, Customer Success, and Professional Services to surface needs and convert learnings into reusable playbooks and enablement.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•5+ years in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role, with at least 2 years leading a technical pre-sales team.
•Proven experience supporting enterprise new-logo acquisition and complex technical evaluations.
•Proven success in open-source, developer-tools, or infrastructure-software companies, including selling to and with developer communities.
•Hands-on technical background in distributed systems, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
•Proficiency in one or more languages: Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP; plus experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern dev/deployment tooling (CI/CD, containers, orchestration).
