Job Summary

Lead Chicagoland advancement by directing local fundraising, communications, and external engagement strategies aligned with organizational priorities. Supervise and coach advancement and related teams, oversee Raiser’s Edge NXT-based donor systems, and build annual private fundraising plans with clear metrics. Grow a portfolio of major donors through relationship-based cultivation and stewardship, while partnering with program and communications staff to connect donors to mission outcomes and represent the organization publicly.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise and monitor team work activities, performance, and people processes including timesheets, time off, and HRIS updates.
•Provide strategic leadership and guidance for World Relief’s fundraising strategy and external engagement in Chicagoland, including annual private fundraising plans.
•Lead major donor growth by identifying, cultivating, and acquiring prospects and managing a portfolio of major donors through personalized engagement.
•Oversee advancement communications including planning/implementation, ensuring consistent branding and messaging, and supporting content creation.
•Work with leadership to develop and launch an advisory board for Chicagoland and coordinate execution across church engagement, development, communications, and volunteer engagement teams.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 115,000 annually

•Mature and personal Christian faith and commitment to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values.
•Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including 3–5 years managing major donor portfolios.
•Experience managing others to do effective fundraising.
•Ability to build trust-based, collaborative relationships with donors, partners, and cross-functional teams.
•Strong background in strategic communications and ethical storytelling, including coaching teams for consistent messaging.
