Job Summary

Provide technical leadership for evaluation and benefits management projects within AECOM’s Transportation team. Lead complex project delivery and oversee high-quality deliverables using established guidance (including the Magenta Book) and innovative evaluation methodologies. Engage with public and private sector clients, support bid and proposal development, and help grow the evaluation and benefits management work area across the UK. Mentor and develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives to grow the evaluation and benefits management work area.
•Build and maintain client relationships and provide strategic advice to public and private sector stakeholders and infrastructure operators.
•Provide oversight for delivery of complex evaluation and benefits management projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned to best practice.
•Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including preparation of bids and proposals and collaboration on multidisciplinary projects.
•Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of the evaluation and benefits management team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience working in evaluation and benefits management.
•Higher degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
•Chartered status or membership in professional bodies (e.g., CIHT, TPS, UK Evaluation Society).
•Practical experience applying mixed methods, including theory-based and experimental/quasi-experimental evaluation design.
•Proven expertise designing and implementing Benefits Management, with strong analytical capabilities for complex datasets and statistical analysis.
