Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage assets and materials by coordinating deliveries/replenishment, shipping/receiving, and maintaining tools and test sets.
  • •Assist in installs, provisioning, testing, and maintenance of DS0 through OC192 services and transmission/switching equipment.
  • •Troubleshoot network equipment, remove/replace defective modules, track spares, and support restoration during service interruptions.
  • •Perform preventive/scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure, including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants.
  • •Use industry standard tools to locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities; update installation records and trouble-ticket logs and provide status reports.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant experience, including 1+ years in network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
  • •Experience and/or knowledge of at least one technician discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP, or Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing).
  • •Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
  • •Maintain site security and cleanliness; must have PC skills and be well versed in Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
  • •Valid driver’s license; must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in all weather; participate in 24x7 rotational on-call and overtime as required.
