Join Knock as a DevOps Engineer on a remote-first platform team responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining core services and infrastructure. You’ll own foundational infrastructure, optimize reliability and performance, and collaborate across a small engineering group to improve uptime, deployment speed, and developer experience in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Adopt and maintain a Terraform-backed EKS cluster for elastic scale, reliability, performance and security.
•Troubleshoot PostgreSQL performance and various queue types to plan 10x–100x scaling.
•Identify and fix scaling issues by improving telemetry and traces in Datadog, CloudWatch, and Honeycomb; patch codebase as needed.
•Maintain and improve our uptime exceeding 99.95%.
•Support product engineering to accelerate delivery and improve developer experience with canaries, faster cycle times, and blue/green deployments.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of DevOps experience in a startup or mid-sized company operating at scale.
•Experience with production Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
•Experience with complex AWS deployments (multi-account, VPCs to support EKS).
•Experience operating and scaling databases (Aurora Postgres, MongoDB, or ClickHouse).
•Experience with queues/streams (SQS, Kinesis, Kafka) and strong problem‑solving focused on reliability, scalability, and performance.
