Job Summary

Lead highly complex development engineering work to improve perovskite solar cell performance, stability, and manufacturing cost. Plan, execute, and characterize experiments across laboratory and manufacturing environments, applying statistical and engineering methods to optimize process/equipment decisions. Serve as a technical expert in perovskite processes and/or equipment development, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and may mentor junior engineers while adhering to Environmental, Quality, and Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform material and device research to improve perovskite solar cell performance, stability, and reduce manufacturing cost.
•Plan, execute, and characterize development engineering experiments in lab and manufacturing environments with iterative de-risking.
•Apply statistical and engineering methods to optimize organizational effectiveness and develop work plans with unclear solution paths.
•Evaluate material and tool/equipment specifications for improved performance.
•Comply with Environmental, Quality, Safety policies; may train, mentor, and manage junior engineers/peers.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 99,600 - 140,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (engineering or similar technical discipline) plus 20 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer III at First Solar.
•Master’s degree (engineering or similar technical discipline) plus 15 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer III at First Solar.
•Ph.D. (engineering or similar technical discipline) plus 10 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years as a Development Engineer III at First Solar.
•Technical expert/innovator in a perovskite process and/or equipment development area.
•Deep knowledge across photovoltaic device theory, materials science, process engineering, and characterization techniques; strong communication to lead cross-functional teams.
