Job Summary

Own and operate Adyen’s core Kubernetes-based container orchestration infrastructure that underpins the global payments platform. Build and maintain orchestration and supporting systems in a private cloud, develop automation to reduce toil, and drive reliability through on-call, incident response, and postmortems. Collaborate with platform engineers across time zones and help evolve the platform through architecture decisions, modernization, and multi-region resilience.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes and supporting infrastructure across Adyen’s global private cloud.
•Develop tooling and automation to improve provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows.
•Own availability and performance of critical platform systems, including on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
•Collaborate with platform engineers in Chicago as part of a global 24/7 team across regions and datacenters.
•Contribute to architectural decisions and platform modernization, including migration strategies and multi-region resilience.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 180,000 - 243,000 annually

Key Requirements

•7+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or software engineering.
•Advanced Linux skills including system administration, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls), and security fundamentals.
•Hands-on Kubernetes experience at scale, including cluster operations, networking, and troubleshooting.
•Experience operating on-prem/bare-metal infrastructure, including provisioning, hardware lifecycle, storage, and datacenter operations.
•Intermediate-to-advanced Bash plus Python or Go; familiarity with HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
