Care for hens and roosters in a biosecure laying house, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and routine housekeeping. Inspect eggs for quality and fitness for incubation, record required egg and bird data (using scanners), and monitor feed intake, mortality, and bird weight. Inspect poultry for disease, euthanize selected birds per policy, and adjust illumination, temperature, and ventilation. Work a 4 days on/4 days off rotating schedule with 1st-shift hours.

Key Responsibilities

•Weigh and distribute feed for multiple hoppers, monitor water consumption, and weigh birds according to schedules.
•Clean waterers and walls, sweep/scrape floors as needed, maintain a clean egg room, and complete routine housekeeping duties.
•Record required information such as egg numbers/line/source, bird weight, medications, feed intake, and mortality.
•Collect eggs, record hen numbers on eggs and production cards using scanners, and handle flats/crates to prevent breakage.
•Inspect poultry for diseases and euthanize selected or weak/ill birds per approved policy; remove dead birds and adjust illumination, temperature, and ventilation systems as instructed.

•At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no job gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months.

•Preferred: previous agricultural or production experience.
•Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements, including regular bending/reaching and lifting up to 30 pounds (with safe lifting techniques).
