Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide sales and recommendations of selected wines and actively advise guests, especially in the context of wines.
  • •Manage the wine cellar and stock control, including monthly inventories, preparation of wine lists, and ordering new wines.
  • •Organise wine tastings and events and maintain contacts with winegrowers and wine merchants.
  • •Coordinate wine pairings with the kitchen team and support service including table service, breakfast service, and evening a la carte service.
  • •Maintain daily mise en place, support weekly training courses, welcome and look after guests, and work to Kempinski standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Completed training in a comparable hotel with several years of extensive experience in upscale gastronomy.
  • •Knowledge of wine service, winemaking, and comprehensive understanding of grapes and grape varieties.
  • •Certified sommelier and strong awareness of current wine trends and ratings.
  • •Ability to organise training sessions for the team and work under pressure with high quality awareness.
  • •Very good knowledge of German and English; basic knowledge of another foreign language is desirable.
