Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive delivery of civil and bridge engineering projects across the region for local government clients, focused on highway structures.
  • •Contribute across the project lifecycle from design and inspection/assessment to feasibility studies and business case development.
  • •Design bridges and other highways structures, including bridge strengthening and repair.
  • •Prepare project documentation, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme feasibility studies, and outline cost estimates.
  • •Lead and mentor a team of six engineers and technicians, supporting technical excellence, collaboration, and project/financial management of schemes.

Key Requirements

  • •Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer status, with experience delivering civil/bridge engineering work across design and construction environments.
  • •Practical experience of bridge design, maintenance, and assessment.
  • •Experience managing bridges and structural engineering projects.
  • •Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW for structural highway schemes, including proper application in your work.
  • •Experience applying Eurocodes and designing/assessing steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete bridge structures, with strong communication and client relationship skills.
