Embed with Product teams to accelerate feature launches and improve customer outcomes by studying user behavior, product flows, and business trends. Propose and run quantitative research, design experiments for causal inference, and define metrics to investigate changes and recommend next steps. Partner with product managers, engineers, designers, and economists to scope impact and develop expertise on how Pro customers use Thumbtack.

Key Responsibilities

•Propose and conduct quantitative research on user behaviors, product flows, and business trends; identify opportunities and next steps with cross-functional partners.
•Design and analyze experiments for causal inference in collaboration with engineers, applied scientists, and economists.
•Partner with product managers and engineers to prioritize and scope new features, including scenario modeling and recommendations on business logic.
•Define and monitor key metrics; investigate metric changes and propose next steps.
•Develop topic expertise on how Pro customers use Thumbtack and support the team’s data culture through accessible data table design and maintenance.

Key Requirements

•4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or economics.
•Experience scoping, analyzing, and communicating results of experiments.
•Expertise in SQL.
•Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships cross-functionally and with leadership.
•Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a technical area such as Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, Math, Computer Science, Operations Research, or Economics.
