Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage assigned claims caseload of complex property damages requiring knowledge of claims coverage and potential legal liability.
  • •Investigate claim damages using research from insured, third parties, and external sources; identify and resolve discrepancies and potential subrogation.
  • •Determine coverage by analyzing complex policy terms and contingencies; review prior loss history and create SIU referrals when appropriate.
  • •Negotiate and settle complex claims within authority limits, collaborate with management for settlements outside authority, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • •Support workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response as needed, including on-call dates, potential evening/weekend/holiday work, and possible travel for inspections and training.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience for moderate complexity losses, including writing estimates for dwelling and structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate (or similar tools and platforms).
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Acquire and maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days and 3 attempts; ability to travel 50-75% of the year and/or work catastrophe duty when needed.
