Job Summary

Design and build fleet-wide log collection and analysis solutions for Datacenter System Software teams, normalizing and correlating multi-rack signals to quickly triage hardware, firmware, and platform faults. Develop tooling for in-band and out-of-band log ingestion (kernel/driver, syslog, Redfish, SEL, BMC/firmware), create scalable taxonomies and schemas, and build root-cause diagnostics with low production overhead. Partner across engineering groups and steward open-source releases.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect, design, and build fleet-wide log collection and analysis that aggregates signals across components, trays, and racks.
•Develop tooling to collect, normalize, and time-align heterogeneous logs from in-band and out-of-band sources and maintain a log catalog/taxonomy for repeatable triage.
•Create debug and root-cause tooling that turns high-volume fleet logs into ranked, actionable diagnoses while minimizing overhead on production compute nodes.
•Partner with matrixed teams (developers, SWQA, product engineering) on end-to-end logging solutions, event schemas, and the interface between log producers and tooling.
•Steward open-source releases and write design docs, owning end-to-end delivery from definition through implementation, testing, and early support.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 184,000 - 356,500 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years in software with specialization in system software and/or firmware development.
•BS, MS, or PhD in CS/CE/EE (or related) or equivalent experience.
•Proven experience shipping scalable server products and/or fleet-wide debugging experience.
•Experience with SCM (Git, Perforce) and project-management tools (Jira), with strong Python or Rust skills.
•Deep Linux systems experience (kernel/driver logs, syslog, journald) and hands-on out-of-band management/platform interfaces (BMC, Redfish, IPMI, SEL).
