Job Summary

Develop, validate, and sustain robust LSR/HCR molding processes using injection, transfer, and compression molding. Optimize injection/fill profiles, pack/hold strategies, cure/thermal control, and venting to reduce scrap and improve capability (Cp/Cpk). Provide daily technical support and lead root-cause analysis for molding defects, while collaborating with Tooling, Production, Quality, NPI, and Maintenance to support product launches and continuous improvement using DOE, SPC, Lean/Kaizen, and OEE metrics.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and optimize molding processes for LSR injection and HCR injection/compression/transfer, including multi-cavity, family molds, and multi-shot configurations.
•Establish standardized process parameters, recipes, and work instructions (including injection/fill profiles, pack/hold, cure/thermal control, and venting).
•Provide daily technical support for defects such as flash, short shots, cure variations, knit lines/voids, sticking/ejection issues, and dimensional inconsistencies.
•Lead structured root-cause analysis (e.g., 5 why, 8D, fishbone) and implement corrective and preventative actions while training operators/technicians.
•Partner with Tooling and Maintenance to support gate/vent design, mold thermal management, mold qualification/production readiness, and equipment performance validation.

Pay and Benefits

•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Plastics, or Polymer).
•5+ years of direct experience in silicone and/or rubber molding, including LSR injection and HCR compression/transfer molding.
•Experience with cure cycles, post-cure/material behavior, and tooling design elements (cavitation, gating, venting, steel types).
•Hands-on use of DOE, SPC, and statistical tools to improve process capability and reduce variation.
•Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, CAD models, and troubleshooting success on complex molding issues.
