Job Summary

Hardware Systems Engineer to own the breadth of hardware development for industrial CT scanners. You’ll span electrical architecture, MCU firmware, and system integration, from concept to shipping prototypes, collaborating with Cambridge and San Francisco teams in a hands-on, interdisciplinary role across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains.

Job Function: IT Operations (Systems/Network Admin)

Key Responsibilities

•Drive the system architecture by translating product-level requirements into mechanical, electrical, and firmware splits and make buy-vs-build decisions on key components.
•Select and qualify critical parts (motors, sensors, actuators, motion controllers, power supplies) and justify tradeoffs.
•Create light MCAD/ECAD designs for brackets, mounts, and PCBAs without outsourcing to a specialist.
•Build prototypes, assemble hardware, bring up boards, and develop an integrated system.
•Write drivers for peripherals and integrate them into the firmware and application stack with Systems Software.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 150,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Several years of hands-on experience taking a complex electro-mechanical or robotics product from blank page to working hardware.
•Breadth of knowledge in mechanical design, electronics, and embedded code. You’ve done all three on real products.
•Comfortable in MCAD and ECAD to produce your own simple designs without handing off to a specialist.
•A tinkerer at heart who chases ambiguity into the hardware and digs to understand why a system behaves as it does.
•Bonus points for background in motion control, closed-loop systems, or sensor fusion.
