Key Responsibilities

  • •Contribute to the research, development and deployment of signal processing and machine learning algorithms for Oura features/products based on a range of sensing modalities
  • •Conduct early stage exploratory research to identify and characterize new potential sensing features and functionality. Develop proof-of-concept features and work with a cross-functional team to take these from proof-of-concept to a commercialized product
  • •Design and support internal and external data collection studies to develop, evaluate, benchmark and improve new biomarkers and algorithms and to evaluate the signal quality of hardware and firmware prototypes
  • •Develop and maintain internal signal evaluation tools and libraries to help Oura’s hardware and firmware teams optimize current and next-generation products
  • •Document, summarize, and present data analysis and algorithm performance results with concrete actionable recommendations for a broad audience on a regular basis

Key Requirements

  • •PhD degree with three years of work experience OR MSc degree with five years of work experience in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, neural engineering or a related field
  • •3+ years of solid programming skills in Python and experience with code collaboration tools (git, peer review, etc)
  • •Experience with signal processing methods and time-series analysis (FIR/IIR filters, Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering, stochastic processes, etc)
  • •Experience with biosignal sensing and wearable hardware (including hardware prototypes) is a plus
  • •A pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can move quickly and prioritize effectively
