Key Responsibilities

•Serve as principal technical authority for front-end architecture, defining foundational decisions on component design, state management, and rendering strategy.
•Drive implementation of island architecture and establish guardrails to keep the platform coherent as it scales across brands.
•Establish performance budgets and SLOs for key reader experiences, ensuring the platform ships against them.
•Own Real User Monitoring and Core Web Vitals instrumentation and turn field measurements into a continuous feedback loop for front-end and delivery health.
•Own edge/CDN and web delivery architecture, including caching and cloud infrastructure for global delivery, and translate bot/traffic trends into resilient, cost/performance-focused designs.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 190,000 - 215,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Substantial experience as a senior individual contributor or technical leader on consumer-facing web at scale, with deep hands-on ownership of front-end architecture.
•Experience configuring CDNs for a consumer-facing public web system.
•A working understanding of bot and automated traffic and how it impacts architecture and cost.
•Fluency in modern browser behavior (Chrome/Chromium and Safari/WebKit) across mobile and desktop, with mobile as priority.
•Hands-on Real User Monitoring and Core Web Vitals experience, with strong performance profiling/debugging skills.
•Operate amid ambiguity by translating business goals into concrete, defensible technical plans.
