Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide operational and engineering leadership for the Security Operations team and OpSec workstreams.
  • •Implement and evolve Canonical’s Security Operations Center.
  • •Design and develop security software and platforms, including automation for security tooling.
  • •Monitor for, identify, respond to, and remediate security incidents; assess and improve security controls.
  • •Mentor early-career Security Operations engineers and contribute to open source security (including publications and conference presentations).

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of relevant professional experience with professional cybersecurity and engineering experience.
  • •Experience working in (or leading) a Security Operations Center with SOC-style monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response.
  • •Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about an alternative path.
  • •Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • •Knowledge of Git, GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
