Key Responsibilities

  • •Support business development initiatives for merchant acquiring and global network businesses, ensuring compliance and advising on implementation.
  • •Draft, review, negotiate, and amend a broad range of commercial agreements for Japan businesses, providing practical business-oriented advice.
  • •Monitor and advise on Japanese legislative and regulatory developments impacting merchant acquiring and network businesses, including working with Government Affairs and Compliance.
  • •Provide strategic legal support for significant commercial transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and execution while balancing legal risk with business goals.
  • •Advise on marketing and promotional activities in Japan to ensure compliance with consumer protection and advertising laws.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer in Japan with 3-5 years post-qualification experience in a top-tier law firm and/or large multi-national corporation.
