Key Responsibilities

•Build Kong’s Managed Gateways SRE team in Toronto from the ground up, including hiring and staying hands-on in early enterprise implementations.
•Lead, mentor, and grow a Site Reliability Engineering team supporting Managed Gateway offerings for enterprise customers across the Americas and Europe.
•Architect and implement robust, scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems using Kubernetes, Golang, and major cloud providers.
•Own the end-to-end operational lifecycle: monitoring/alerting, incident response, and blameless post-mortems to drive continuous improvement.
•Drive operational efficiency via automation and self-service tooling, define SLOs/SLIs, and collaborate with Product and support to ensure readiness for new features.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 175,000 - 245,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Proven experience leading and managing Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
•Deep expertise designing, deploying, and operating highly available distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
•Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and container orchestration in production.
•Proficiency in Golang or similar modern programming languages for infrastructure automation and service development.
•Strong observability knowledge and experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
