Key Responsibilities

  • •Build Kong’s Managed Gateways SRE team in Toronto from the ground up, including hiring and staying hands-on in early enterprise implementations.
  • •Lead, mentor, and grow a Site Reliability Engineering team supporting Managed Gateway offerings for enterprise customers across the Americas and Europe.
  • •Architect and implement robust, scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems using Kubernetes, Golang, and major cloud providers.
  • •Own the end-to-end operational lifecycle: monitoring/alerting, incident response, and blameless post-mortems to drive continuous improvement.
  • •Drive operational efficiency via automation and self-service tooling, define SLOs/SLIs, and collaborate with Product and support to ensure readiness for new features.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 175,000 - 245,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience leading and managing Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • •Deep expertise designing, deploying, and operating highly available distributed systems on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • •Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and container orchestration in production.
  • •Proficiency in Golang or similar modern programming languages for infrastructure automation and service development.
  • •Strong observability knowledge and experience with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
