Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and underwrite residential mortgage applications for Conventional, Non-QM, and DSCR loan products.
  • •Analyze borrower credit profiles, income, assets, employment history, and collateral to determine eligibility and risk.
  • •Evaluate alternative documentation programs and calculate DSCR with complex income and risk analysis.
  • •Ensure compliance with agency, investor, company, and federal/state lending guidelines and regulations; review and submit exceptions.
  • •Make underwriting decisions (approvals, conditional approvals, suspensions, denials) and maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and post-closing needs.

Key Requirements

  • •2–5 years of mortgage underwriting experience with Conventional and/or Non-QM loan products.
  • •Strong knowledge of Conventional underwriting requirements, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
  • •Experience underwriting Non-QM products such as DSCR and alternative documentation loans (e.g., bank statement, asset depletion, ITIN, 1099, P&L-only).
  • •Thorough understanding of mortgage lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • •Proficiency with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) including DU and LP, and electronic document management systems.
