Job Summary

Entry-level environmental planning role supporting NEPA assessments and environmental reports in Honolulu. Work with Project Managers to collect data, perform field and desktop analyses, and prepare environmental documentation. Develop skills in environmental impact evaluations, regulatory requirements, GIS data handling, and client/public involvement within a collaborative Advisory & Planning team.

Key Responsibilities

•Under direct supervision, assist with preparing NEPA environmental assessments and environmental impact statements, impact assessments, environmental survey reports, data entry, and permitting documentation for assigned tasks.
•Understand impact assessment methodologies and perform scientific research and/or writing tasks.
•Assist with field and desktop collection and compilation of observational, spatial, operations, and environmental data from multiple matrices.
•Maintain quality control standards for measurements and statistical analysis of environmental data.
•Assist with basic professional environmental planning work relating to ecological systems, habitats, air, and water resources.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning or Policy, Environmental Science, Biological Science, Geology, Water Resources, Natural Resources, or related field
•0 to 1 years of relevant environmental or planning experience
•Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills and excellent writing skills
•Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, permitting requirements, and regulatory framework
•Familiarity with GIS and office automation/tools (Microsoft, Adobe, Google Earth)
