Mitigation Specialist

Support local, state, tribal, and territorial clients with the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), coordinating project identification, documentation, and submission for FEMA review. Apply FEMA HMA policies and regulations (including Sections 404/406, 44 CFR, Stafford Act, and NEPA) to evaluate eligibility and cost reasonableness. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction managers on estimates and discrepancies, build benefit-cost analyses, draft guidance for sub-recipients, and maintain accurate project documentation in electronic systems.
