Key Responsibilities

  • •Own technical evaluation for enterprise accounts from discovery through POC or competitive bake-off, architecture sign-off, security review, and first production workload.
  • •Engage cross-functionally with data platform engineers, architects, SRE, security, and executive stakeholders to design solutions that hold up in production.
  • •Design for production scale, including sizing, sharding/replication, ingestion topology, tiered storage, cost modeling, and failure handling.
  • •Win competitive displacements by running customer-reproducible benchmarks and designing migrations off incumbent systems.
  • •Own the migration plan—sequencing, dual-run, validation, and cutover—and guide security/procurement artifacts including network/identity architecture and BYOC/private deployment requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep technical foundation in data infrastructure from data engineering, platform engineering, software engineering, DBA, or solutions architecture experience.
  • •Production experience operating analytical databases (including ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Druid, Pinot, Vertica), not just querying them.
  • •Distributed systems judgment across partitioning, replication, consistency trade-offs, query execution, and failure behavior under load.
  • •Fluency across the modern data stack, including Kafka and CDC pipelines, orchestration, object storage, BI tools, and at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) at the architecture level.
  • •Customer-facing experience with real stakes (pre-sales/consulting/technical account management or staff-level engineering work with customers).
