Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

•Operate plant machinery as directed while adhering to safety rules and procedures.
•Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
•Set stops or guides to specified lengths using scale, rule, or templates.
•Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunctions and review product for quality requirements.
•Perform routine machine maintenance, assist other operators with setup, and maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/equivalent; or at least one month of related trades experience; or an equivalent education/experience combination.
•Previous experience operating Besser V-3 or Columbia Block Machine Model 1600 or Model 16.
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to work independently as a self-starter while maintaining accuracy.
•Experience with basic math (add/subtract/multiply/divide) and the ability to apply common sense to instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
