Job Summary

Lead portions of FEMA Risk MAP and floodplain mapping projects across Colorado, bridging technical hydrology and hydraulics with growing project management responsibility. You’ll coordinate scopes, schedules, and budgets, perform and QA/QC hydrologic/hydraulic and flood hazard analyses, and support client and stakeholder meetings. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, assisting with proposal and scope development, and contributing to drainage, stormwater, and related hydraulic modeling work.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the management and delivery of FEMA Risk MAP studies, floodplain mapping projects, and flood hazard analyses throughout Colorado.
•Coordinate project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables under senior project managers.
•Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain analysis, and FEMA regulatory study tasks.
•Participate in client meetings and stakeholder discussions.
•Review technical work products and assist with QA/QC; mentor junior engineers and support staff development.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
•5–7 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, floodplain management, or related disciplines.
•Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
•Experience supporting project delivery (scope development, scheduling, and budget tracking).
•Experience with FEMA flood studies/floodplain analysis and proficiency with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS 2D, SRH-2D) and GIS/design software (e.g., ArcGIS, Bentley, Autodesk).
